Torrontés facts: According to wine expert Jancis Robinson, Torrontés has the capability of producing of high quality.  At its most ideal, Robinson notes, Torrontés are "wines for early drinking that are not too heavy, are high in acidity, and are intriguingly aromatic in a way reminiscent of but not identical to Muscat."  Torrontés has also been compared to Pinot Grigio and Viognier.

Winery:  Bodega Monteviejo is owned by Catherine Pere-Verge, who is also the proprietor of Chateau Le Gay in Pomerol. The winery is located at the foothills of the Andes, next to Vista Flores. Michel Rolland is in charge of the winemaking.

It hails from Argentina, but with the expertise and savoir fair of the team of winemakers who deliver the Chateau Le Gay wines out of Pomerol.  This is one you'll want to hoard winelovers!  It's dry, succulent, and citrusy, and perfect with most any appetizer on the light side.  You can't go wrong just having it as a solo apéritif.  Fish, chicken, and seafood alike, are perfect for the medium body and lengthy finish of this Festivo Torrontés, as is guacamole, Mexican, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine using these meat choices.  Oh, and this Bodega Monteviejo is fantastic with sushi too...
