Wired For Wine:  Knock, knock.  Who's there?  A great white at an unbeatable price!  This Chalone Vineyard Monterey County Sauvignon is crisp, bright and citrusy, with the perfect hint of spice.  Fill those glasses generously and offer a first course of roasted butternut squash soup.  If you're not ready to sit down yet, just pass a platter of soup shooters garnished with a drizzle of cream and some fresh thyme.  Everybody likes a shot of yummy warm fall soup... The combination of lovely citrus and tropical fruits in this luscious California Sauvignon Blanc will delight with entrees of chicken, just about anything that swims or lives in the sea, raw oysters and many vegetables and herbs.  One of our favorites for a luncheon or a light dinner is a dungeoness crab salad with lemongrass aioli.  Just delicious!  A really easy but impressive looking alternative is Sauvignon salmon in a pouch with Littleneck clams and matchstick veggies.  And finally, chicken legs stuffed with mushrooms, pignolis and artichoke hearts will marry beautifully with the notes of lemon zest and grapefruit in this Chalone white.  After the dishes have been cleared, open another bottle to go with a mild camembert cheese.  All that's left is to sit back and enjoy the satisfied faces.
