Corinna Rayment Revolution Shiraz 2007

Corinna Rayment Revolution Shiraz 2007

  • Robert Parker, Jr. 91
Robert Parker, Jr.-The Wine Advocate:  Rated as a An outstanding wine of exceptional complexity and character.  Recommended and tasted, but no tasting note given.  Feb 2009

Winery:  "The grapes for Revolution come from the most revered sub-region of McLaren Vale, known as Seaview. This sub-region is where the best reds to come out of McLaren Vale are grown. The vines are relatively young at 5 years, but due to the extreme lack of soil nutrients & carefully regulated deficit irrigation practices, the vines are already producing voluptuous, flavor packed & rich fruit, perfect for Revolution. The vines are hand pruned and crop at around 3 tons per acre."

Wired For Wine:  Come along and ride this luscious Aussie midnight ruby wave which is the Corinna Rayment Revolution Shiraz.  At this price, don't delay, and stock up so that you can get to that first bottle.  Serve it with sausage and parmesan-stuffed mushrooms, and just feel the happy come into the room...  This Rayment red boasts rich, dark fruit, some cheeky spice, and lovely acidity which combine to make it a great choice with grilled meats, rich pastas, sausage, barbecue and more.  If you've got some time on your hands, or are doing takeout, we love the gorgeous fruit of this Revolution with Peking duck.  The hoisin sauce will showcase the fruit in the wine, and when you wrap the duck, scallions and cucumber in the pancake, they will bring out its spicy side.  The smoky notes of this McLaren Vale Shiraz are perfect for grilled lamb kebabs with mint pesto if you're looking for a quick meal.  And if pasta is what you're craving, we love this Aussie red with a hearty eggplant lasagna.  Give everyone a moment and then open another bottle.  It will close the evening beautifully with a smoked Gouda cheese.  This is one Revolution you're going to want to join, winelovers!!
