Wine Enthusiast:  The 2009 vintage has not yet been rated.  The 2008 was rated as Excellent, extremely well made and highly recommended.  "A bright purple luster draws you in, and the nose is bright, clean, focused and full of wild blackberry. Balanced in the mouth, with size and tannin but plenty of acidity and fruit. Tastes of blackberry, vanilla cream, molasses and spice, and the finish brings it on home. Wired For Wine:  ¡Caray!  Or, wow!  That's what we said when we tasted the ripe, dark fruit, and pillowy tannins which then led us happily to the long, silky finish of the Don Miguel Gascón Malbec.  This deep violet dream is a terrific value.  It pairs beautifully with lamb and other meats, especially when grilled.  It will start off the meal nicely with antipasti and tapas alike.  Your choice to pour it with pancetta and salami, or Iberian jamon...  The rich texture of the Gascón Malbec will show off a sizzling platter of beef fajitas or steak grilled your favorite way like a pro.  If you're in the mood for pasta, ravioli with meat sauce will surely satisfy.  To partner the gentle tannins of this Don Miguel, we suggest a not-too-spicy lamb curry. ¡Qué delicia!  The winery suggested a chocolate molten dessert to go with that last glass or two.  Who are we to argue?
