"The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (about 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, with a pretty hefty percentage of Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot) is deep ruby/purple, beautifully Bordeaux-like, but from a ripe year with its notes of charcoal, creme de cassis, cedar, and spice box. There is even a touch of lead pencil shavings in the taste of the wine. It has terrific freshness, medium to full body, and the ability to age well for at least 20-25+ years. If I had to choose two words which embody the character of Forman Vineyard wines they would be finesse and elegance.  As the sole proprietor of Forman Vineyard, I have the luxury of personally nurturing the wines during every stage of production – from harvest, through blending, bottling and ageing. In the age of anonymous ownership, this type of hands-on approach to winemaking is growing ever rarer.  Grapes are gently handled from harvest through fermentation.  Deep caves have been constructed which maintain a cool dark and humid environment in which to age red wine in new French oak barrels. The wines literally age in the soils from which they grew."

Wired For Wine: This artisan Cabernet blend is 100% estate bottled by Napa Valley wine legend, Ric Forman, and shouldn't be missed.  If you're looking for a great companion for this Napa Cabernet,try grilled lamb chops with a dollop of  pesto.  On the side, serve creamy mashed potatoes with some crispy shallots sprinkled on top.  One of our favorite meals.  You'll love it!
