Wired For Wine:    Get your hoarding boots on winelovers; you're going to want to get in on this crisp, lively Summer favorite.  Say hola to Viña Gormaz Rueda, an intoxicatingly delicious Spanish white with beautiful floral, pear and juicy citrus notes.  Fill the glasses with this chilled Rueda and stand back as they stamped for the lobster and okra tempura with ginger dipping sauce.  The beautiful white fruit nuances, crisp acidity and soupcon of an herbal hint all combine to make this Gormaz ideal with chicken, vegetables, fish, seafood and more.  We love it with chicken done on the grill after languishing in an apricot/scallion marinade.  Crispy, well-salted fish and chips will balance the lively acidity of this Verdejo-Viura, as will linguine with shrimp and a lemon cream sauce.  As for your finale, an herbal goat cheese will be perfect with this Spanish sipper.  If you prefer to travel the dessert route, we can think of nothing more appealing than a rose petal scented creme brulee.  ¿Dónde está mi sacacorchos?!

Cool facts:  Rueda is actually a Denominación de Origen (DO) in Spain, for the wines from the Community of Castile and Leon, located northwest of Madrid. The Verdejo grape has been grown in this region since the 11th Century, and is now one of Spain’s most successful white grape varieties.
