Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Winery: "Complex black cherry, berry, and plum fruit characters, interwoven with anise, clove and black pepper. Rich and graceful, with a full mid-palate and a lengthy finish, complemented by toasty oak and cocoa powder tannins."
Wired For Wine: From the highly esteemed Honig winery and its incredibly talented crew, we bring you this Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Your first glass couldn't get any better with a platter of duck leg bruschetta. Music to your mouth, we say... The full body, myriad of herbal and earthy flavors, spice notes, rich fruit and strong/silent tannins combine to deliver a terrific partner for meaty dishes such as beef, lamb, game and more. Our classic favorite is grilled filet of beef au poivre with fresh asparagus. Equally delicious is a lamb loin and fennel macronade - an hedonistic pasta topped with meltingly tender lamb slices. If a light dinner or lunch is on the menu, this phenomenal California Cab will only enhance a gently spicy Thai beef salad. This formidable red can handle a potent cheese, so don't be shy. Set out a room temperature Gorgonzola with a crusty fresh bread and open another bottle. When do we eat?!
