Laetitia Reserve Pinot Noir 2007
Wine Enthusiast: Rated as Excellent, extremely well made and highly recommended. "Quite an impressive wine, rich and full-bodied and ageable. Shows a touch of Burgundy in the grilled mushrooms and earthy tastes, but it’s all California in the ripe berries, cherries and cola. The texture is complex, with refined tannins, fine acidity and a touch of sweet, smoky cedar. Beautiful now, and should develop through 2013, at least." Dec 2009
Winery: "With each vintage the Laetitia Reserve Pinot Noir is marked by its elegant red berries and rich earthiness. This 2007 vintage Pinot Noir is distinct in its abundance of bright boysenberry and smokey mushroom aromas. On the palate it displays structure and grip to pair perfectly with rich salmon or braised lamb." Wired For Wine: This Reserve Pinot Noir is estate grown, bottled and produced by Laetitia Winery using the estate's best vineyard blocks and hand-selected barrels. Truly California Pinot Noir at its finest. You will not want to leave the table after your first sip of this mouthwateringly delicious Laetitia Reserve Du Domaine Pinot Noir. Think lots of courses, winelovers... The earthy, mushroom notes in the Reserve Pinot will be killer with crostini with mushrooms, prosciutto and blue cheese. Now that the party has officially started, let's move on to the entrees. This Central Coast Pinot will pair perfectly with lamb tortellini and an olive oil-based sauce with sage and plum tomatoes. This Laetitia is also made to drink with a grilled steak. We love it with a juicy porterhouse because it has some fat to char, and thus dance a tango with the refined tannins in this lovely Pinot. To make it love the wine even more, dress the steak with a zesty black pepper sauce. Fantastic. The sweet, smokey cedar in the Laetitia Reserve will work well with mixed grilled vegetables too. Serve them with grilled salmon drizzled with a rich tomato-bacon sauce and disappear into the delectable tastes. Open one last bottle and revel in it with a sharp Shelburne Two-Year Cheddar from Vermont. Not too shabby, winelovers. Cheers!
