Ochagavia Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Winery: "This Sauvignon Blanc is deep yellow color, and features gooseberry, pineapple, and citrus aromas. This concentrated wine is fresh, balanced and intensely fruity. Ideal for consumption with salads, pasta, fish and also hot and spicy cuisine."
Wired For Wine: Via Ochagava is a traditional winery founded in 1851 by don Silvestre Ochagava, the first man to plant noble French grape varieties in Chile. The vineyard for this grand reserve Sauvignon Blanc is located in the Casablanca Valley, west of Santiago off the Pacific Coast, where it benefits from a temperate climate that allows for even ripening of the grapes and consequently a high concentration of aromas and flavors. This medium-bodied Sauvignon Blanc has a good structure, a perfectly balanced acidity, and is outstandingly food friendly. The Gran Reserva will start your meal well with appetizers or by itself as an aperitif. Follow with a delicious green salad with asparagus, tomatoes, or goat cheese. Finish with seafood, poultry, or spice it up with Asian/fusion fare or with cilantro, peppers, and garlic dishes. Fantstico! Drink now, serving at a temperature between 50F and 54F.
