Winemaker:  "This extracted and aromatic wine is crafted from Malbec grapes perfectly ripened in the sun drenched climate of eastern Mendoza, Argentina. The desert night brings cool temperatures to balance the acidity with the grape sugars created during the day.

A meticulous and gentle fermentation along with American and French oak aging results in a rich, perfumed nose and small, integrated tannins. The soft, round mouth feel explodes with bright and persistent red fruit flavors.  The wine is a deep garnet red color and has a nose of plums with hints of toasted mocha, chocolate and licorice.  In the mouth, hints of fresh plum, strawberry and raspberry with zesty acidity."

Wired for Wine:  Winemaking is not a new industry for the Argentinians; monks cultivated the first vines in the mid-16th century, and the rest is history. Most of the country's wines are produced in this great Mendoza region on the foothills of the Andes mountains.

The full body of this Argentinian Malbec stands up beautifully to big meat dishes.  Beef, lamb and steak are the top choices.  Grill the steak, and pick your favorite cooking method for the others.  Now that there is a chill in the air for some of us, roasting, braising or stewing a beef or lamb entree is once again an option.  Sausage, by itself , or on a pizza is another great choice for this versatile wine.  On the lighter, meat-free side, putting a glass of the Petizos next to a mushroom pizza will not disappoint either.  Enjoy!
