Robert Parker, Jr.: Rated as An extraordinary wine of profound and complex character displaying all the attributes expected of a classic wine of its variety. Worth a special effort to find, purchase and consume. "The 2007 Affinity exhibits more graphite, but in essence is similarly elegant, with supple tannins (although more velvety than in the 2006), very young, primary black and blue fruit notes, and superb concentration, texture, and length.  The Affinity group is the best group of wines I have ever tasted from Robert Craig Winery. Not only is there not a single disappointment in this portfolio, but these are all noteworthy wines, with thrilling levels of quality. Moreover, they are moderately priced for Napa Valley as well as ageworthy." Dec 2009

Winery:  The 2006 is "Open, inviting perfume of dark black fruit blossoms in the glass, underlain with sweet cassis and lovely touches of blueberry, violets, roasted coffee and spicy oak.  An abundance of rich, deep black and blue fruit wraps around a core of polished tannins, intermixed with black currant, dark cocoa and spice. A continuum of luscious flavors carries forward through the generous finish, enlivened by crisp acidity and mineral notes."

Robert Parker, Jr: "The 2006 Affinity is a steal for a high-quality Napa Cabernet-based wine (actually 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). This wine displays floral, blueberry, and black currant notes intermixed with some subtle oak and a hint of coffee beans. Generous, rich, with beautiful layers of fruit, impressive purity, and admirable elegance combined with power, this is a gorgeous wine that can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15+ years."  Dec 2009

Winery: The 2006 has "Concentrated berry and black cherry fruit at the forefront, underlain with sweet cassis and touches of violets, lavender and spicy oak.  A beautifully polished core of black fruit on the mid-palate, interwoven with black olive, red currant, espresso and a hint of maple.  Lush and generous, focusing on more dense fruit, enlivened with crisp acidity and silky, fine-grained tannins.  A rich, multi-layered Cabernet that balances power with finesse.  Finesse and grace are the hallmarks of this classy blend, echoing a Margaux-like complexity, depth and harmony, in which dark, luscious fruit is married with ripe, round tannins that provide the structure for aging."

* Wired For Wine on 2007/2006 *  Two fabulous Robert Craig Affinity vintages bundled into one combination pack?  It's our gift to you, winelovers.  The Robert Craig Affinity Cabernet 4-Pack has two bottles each of the 2007 and 2006 vintages.  The hardest part will be deciding which to open first...  Pour your first glass of either year, and it will seduce you with a platter of warm fritelle di Parmigiano, beignets of Parmigiano Reggiano and prosciutto.  The stunning concentration, complexity and depth of both Affinity vintages pair beautifully with meats ranging from beef and game to duck and salmon.  What strikes your fancy?  We love these Napa reds with bacon-wrapped filet mignon, red wine jus and mushroom sauce.  We think you will too.  Or, you could try Sicilian meatballs with pine nuts and raisins in tomato sauce.  They will highlight some of the luscious fruit and oak nuances in these Cabernet blends.  Another great choice is duck breast with  sun-dried cherry sauce over parmesan polenta.  It will bring out the dark fruit in the Robert Craig too, and its spice, while the crisp acidity balances the rich polenta like a pro.  Open another bottle and pour it next to a hard, nutty Gouda.  By the end of the meal, everyone will have an Affinity for you!
