Wired For Wine:  This rich Rodney Strong Estate Alexander Valley Cabernet is the perfect companion for hearty meat and lamb dishes.  After a virtually perfect growing season, you will love the resulting exceptional quality of this vintage, one the winery refers to as "likely one of our best in recent years"...  Pour a glass and serve it with a ripe Camembert and some austere water crackers while you consider your energy level for the meal.  We love this Estate Cabernet with Spanish beef tenderloin Asturias, pan-seared beef tenderloin steaks which are bathed in a delicious blue cheese-white wine sauce.  The rich complexity of the wine will match the decadence of the cheese beautifully.  A simpler but equally mouth-watering option is lamb chops with a balsamic/shallot reduction.  The wonderful fruit in this Alexander Valley Cab works terrifically with the sweet notes in the balsamic.  Serve the lamb chops with a fried, baked eggplant dish.  The gorgeous texture and fruit in this Rodney Strong will end the meal on a very high note if you open that last bottle and serve it with a dark chocolate/brioche bread pudding with a red berry sauce.  Where's my corkscrew?
