Fruity notes of fresh plums, black cherries, well matched with nice flavours of black pepper and spices.   Intense and medium-bodied, Superiore 2008 demonstrates a surprisingly fresh wine. Tannins, well balanced between elegance and aggressiveness, are perfectly matched with the fruity body of this Chianti.  The aftertaste is very persistent and lays on notes of fresh cherry and blueberry.  Chianti Superiore production regulations follow Chianti Classico production standards that are designed to achieve wines of high quality."

Wired For Wine:  The Ruffino Chianti Superiore is the perfect wine to have at the ready for pizaa and pastas with tomato and/or meat sauces.  For a twist, how about a pizza with a litte Parma ham and arugala? Delicious.  Or why not put together a big pan of baked manicotti in a red sauce...let it simmer for hours.   For a treat, a simple roast veal dish partnered with a porcini risotto is the trick. Oh mio!  We wouldn't drink this Chianti with sweet dishes, so after the serious eating is done, have just one more glass (or two) with a nibble of tangy Provolone. Che perfezione!
