Teddy Hall Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: Rated as Excellent. "Pale metallic yellow color. Ripe fruit-driven aromas of orange peel, honeysuckle and brown spices. Then round and substantial in the mouth, with an almost chardonnay weigh to the lemon, soft citrus and lightly herbaceous flavors. A rather easygoing, silky Sauvignon Blanc with a persistent, broad, lemony aftertaste." Mar/Apr 2011
Winery: "Pale straw is the description of the colour on this wine. While the nose provides a round of fig and melons, in the mouth it is tangy and crisp with the same flavours following, along with some tropical notes too. The refreshing zestiness on the finish is an enticement to take yet another sip..." Wired For Wine: Look no further; we've found the perfect aperitif in this silky and easygoing Teddy Hall Sauvignon Blanc! If you want some company with its lovely citrus, refreshing crispness, and herbaceous notes, we suggest very warm shooters of asparagus soup or fresh oysters on the half shell. As for the entree, the options are many. This well-rounded Sauvignon Blanc is terrific with chicken, shellfish, seafood, and vegetarian options. The zesty, tangy side of this Teddy Hall goes beautifully with big family-style platters of buttermilk fried chicken served alongside a spinach, tomato salad. Dig in winelovers! On of our favorite pastas with the soft lemony notes of this white wine is linguine with a garlicky white clam sauce. If you're looking for the wow factor, our choice is whole branzino (sea bass) roasted in salt with a lemony salsa verde. Just spectacular! At this price, make sure you get plenty for the final course, and fill your glasses once more to enjoy with a creamy French Banon cheese. It has a full fruity and woodsy flavor which is made for this Teddy Hall. Size: 750ml, screw cap Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc Alcohol: 13.0% Region: Stellenbosch, South Africa |
