Wired For Wine: "La Storia" means "history".  Open your first bottle of Trentadue La Storia Zinfandel, and make your own history and memories by serving full glasses with steaming hot mini eggplant rolatinis and sliced, toasted Italian bread  topped with sausage, peppers and onions.  It will go down as your own personal feast of San Gennaro.  The dark fruit and berries, spice and pepper notes, gentle tannins and toast which combine to make this "gutsy and exuberant" Zinfandel allow it to work well with everything from barbecued and grilled meats, to baked pastas and pizza.  What are you hungry for?  If you're lamenting the departure of summer, honor the season of warmth with sticky bone-suckingly good barbecued baby backs.  They'll bring out the hint of brown sugar in the wine.  Serve some simmered kale with smoked ham with them and you'll have the crowd eating out of the palm of your hand.  We recently had a Greek Pastitsio (baked meat and pasta dish) at home, and think its oregano, cinnamon and nutmeg accents are perfect for the spice and gorgeous density of this Trentadue.  And finally, if you're planning ahead, the juxtaposition of the ever-so-slightly sweet, long finish opposite the peppery, briery side of this California red can't miss with a Thanksgiving turkey and the wide variety of sides which come with it. Take a moment, fill your glasses again, and serve them with a deliciously bitey Stilton cheese.  Is this heaven?
