Winery: "Color: Brilliant red ruby, deep intensity, and masked violets. Aroma: Red fruits, with subtle notes of snuff and chocolate. Oak gives to this wine elegancy and soft vanilla touches. Flavor: Intense, complex, dry fruits and vanilla. Balanced tannins, long end in the palate." Wired For Wine: Since 1860, the Correas family has lovingly been crafting a variety of Argentinean wines. This Valle Las Acequias Malbec is a gorgeous example of the skill and devotion of this talented family. From 70-year-old vines, the deeply intense red fruit, hints of snuff and chocolate, balanced tannins and elegant oak all come together as a lovely vehicle for pairing with beef, lamb, steak and sausage. Open your first complex bottle and serve some bombas, chicken, beef, and pork meatballs with garlic aoili. ¡Delicioso! Moving along to the entree, we love the smooth tannins and gentle oak of this Argentine red with a grilled rib-eye with crispy sweet potatoes and sauteed spinach. Braised lamb shanks with summer tomatoes, lentils and garlic will evoke the luscious fruit in this Valle Las Acequias beautifully. If you're going casual, assemble a platter of quesidillas with grilled steak, Monterrey cheese, sour cream and Pico di Gallo. This Malbec will be the perfect partner... After a brief rest, you will want to rally for some Cashel blue cheese with simple crackers and lavender honey drizzled over it all. La vida es corta. Beba Malbec, winelovers!
