Winery:  "This wine is driven by rich, complex fruit. It is well balanced with aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, tropical fruit, citrusy fruit and a hint of oak. It has a very long, flavorful finish that lingers.

The wine was barrel fermented in 35% new and 65% one-year-old French oak barrels. It was aged on the yeast lees for seven months. A little more than one-third of the wine was put through malo-lactic fermentation to enhance the wine while retaining crispness and varietal characteristics."

Wired For Wine:  You must decide if it's going to be a seafood or a poultry day...  Lobster, crab, and salmon will do the Whitehall Lane proud, but so will chicken, turkey and goose.  Because we are so devoted to our "work", today necessitates a very serious dose of non-labor-intensive comfort food.  Two chickens roasted to perfection, surrounded by sliced onions will start you off nicely.  Make sure the onions are moderately browned before removing them; they add fantastic flavor to the drippings for gravy.  The Whitehall Lane really struts its stuff with buttery or creamy sauces, hence the gravy.  Add a tiny bit of tarragon or thyme to make it your own.  The savory quality of the chicken and onions will balance the complex fruit of  this Chardonnay beautifully. While the birds are under way, prepare a big pot of cheesy grits and throw in some corn to give it even more texture.  Slow roast halved plum tomatoes tossed with sea salt, pepper and olive oil next to fresh rosemary sprigs and you have your side.  Mash a couple of the tomatoes into the gravy for a gorgeous result.  Bring on the recovery!
