Winery:  "The County Series wines were created in response to numerous requests for a moderately priced, varietally correct Pinot Noir. It is a blend of small lots of Pinot Noir from around Sonoma County with a small amount of wine from the Napa side of Carneros to add complexity and layers to the finished product.  The resulting wine offers intense dark fruit with hints of coffee and chocolate and a slight floral overtone that makes one come back for more. The wine is put together for drinking but has the structure and intensity to hold up for at 3-5 more years. This blend was hand selected and blended by our winemaker to bring across that classic Willowbrook style and character."

Wired For Wine:  The classic style and character of this Willowbrook Cellars Sonoma Pinot Noir will present great pairing opportunities with its complex layers, killer dark fruit, whispers of coffee and chocolate, all woven into a beautifully solid structure.  Open your first bottle with a slice of beet and goat cheese terrine.  The slight sweetness of the beets will work the fruit side of this Sonoma Pinot terrifically.   Not a beet fan?  How about a platter of Asian chicken wings with soy and sour cherry glaze?  Moving right along, this Willowbrook Cellars is lovely with salmon and duck, and can also work very well with lean beef, lamb and pork.  We love it with braised duck cooked with raisins, tomatoes and olives.  The tomatoes and olives will awaken the hint of earthy coffee in this California Pinot.  We also highly recommend braised lamb shank with red onion preserves.  On the quick and easy side, stuffed chicken breasts with sundried tomato butter won't disappoint either.  What's your pleasure winelovers?  Open one last bottle and send everyone home happy after they savor a few more glasses with a rich, cow's milk Vacherin cheese.  All we need is the time and place...
