Querciabella has been making Chianti Classico since 1974, and you will not want to miss this vintage. Talk about a phenomenal value winelovers; we say run, don't walk! They've crafted a gorgeous, well-rounded red with structure, full body and mothwateringly ripe fruit. Pour your first glass and maybe go Italian for round one: we love this sip-inspiring Chianti Classico with mixed antipasti like fried eggplant, fresh fava beans with pancetta, roasted peppers and Prosciutto. Be careful; you might not make it to the entree... If you're able to pace yourselves, this Querciabella will pair beautifully with lots of cheeses, red meats and tomato-based sauces. We love it with baked rigatoni with eggplant, peas and ground veal. On the woodsy, earthy side, it is fantastic with papardelle sauced with tomatoes, white wine, carrots and wild duck. An oven-roasted leg of lamb with potatoes will delight as well. As a final note, pour another glorious glass of this stunning ruby red and enjoy it with a subtly nutty, salty Italian Grana Padano cheese. La vita è breve. Bere Chianti Classico!

Antonio Galloni's Vinous: "The 2017 Chianti Classico is bright, floral and beautifully lifted, with lovely red berry and rose petal character. Pliant and supple, with terrific balance, the Querciabella 2017 is one of the more refined, restrained Chianti Classicos readers will come across in this vintage, with Radda very much driving the personality of the wine in its aromatic and red fruit profile. The 2017 finishes with terrific energy and nuance. Drinking window: 2023-2036." Sep 2020
