Marc Hebrart
Marc Hebrart 1er Cru Selection Extra Brut Champagne
Winery: "Jean-Paul has introduced a set of Extra Brut wines based on his three most popular cuvées: Sélection, his old vines, massale selection non-vintage, his exquisite one hundred precent Mareuil Rosé and excellent Blanc de Blancs, a slightly richer expression of Chardonnay, incorporating fruit from the riper, northern section Côte de Blancs as well as Mareuil.
For this release, Jean-Paul decided to release the wines in two versions – the traditional Bruts and an Extra Brut version of each wine, with significantly lower dosage. This was not done to follow trends, but rather Hébrart wanted to demonstrate that the wines could find balance at two different levels of dosage. The Extra Brut versions accentuate the mineral, non-fruit elements, showing a slightly more chiseled frame, while the traditional Bruts feel more hedonistic and emphasize the fruit character of the wines.
As with all of Jean-Paul’s wines, they are a pleasure to drink in their youth and will benefit further from cellaring."
