94pts Jeb Dunnuck

We were smitten with this delicious, heady French red and all its gorgeous, dark fruit and earthy nuances. It's super smooth, and our first bottles disappeared too quickly. We paired it with duck leg confit and cranberry sauce sauteed potatoes and haricots with toasted, slivered almonds. It is absolutely made for lamb your favorite way too.

Jeb Dunnuck: "This terroir always delivers a wild, opulent, gamey style of wine, and the 2017 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert doesn’t disappoint. Loads of chocolaty black fruits, ground pepper, truffle, and smoked game, as well as a hint of black olives, emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a rocking texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s a classic example of this wine and terroir. Drink it over the coming 15 years or so. Maturity: 2020-2035." Dec 2019

Winery: "Enjoy with pressed guinea fowl or saddle of lamb with young vegetables, noisette of lamb with rosemary."
