Michele Satta Piastraia Bolgheri Superiore 2018
95/100 Points, James Suckling
Beautiful fruit and personality to spare, a deliciously velvety Tuscan red for many of your favorite tomato-based and/or meaty dishes. The Michele Satta Piastraia Bolgheri Superiore is fantastic juice. Get a couple for now, and a few more for 5 or 10 years from now.
James Suckling: “Really attractive currants, spice, black licorice and blueberries follow through to a full body with very fine tannins that integrate beautifully into the wine. Blackberries and currants. Pure and finely structured. Drinkable now, but much better in 2024 and onwards." Oct 2021
Winery: "In the glass a dark ruby red color. On the medium+ nose aromas of blackberries, dark cherries and blueberries with hints of herbs and spices. On the palate dry, medium+ bodied and very elegant, medium acidity and ripe tannins. Dark cherries, black currants with spicy oak on the balanced palate with a nice and long finish."
