94pts Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate
The magnum offering of Schramsberg Brut Rose vintage has only happened twice before, 2008 and 2009. You're in luck; we grabbed some of the 2012's.

Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate: "Another big-time winner, and one of their larger cuvées of just over 900 cases is the 2012 Brut Rosé. This is a blend of 76% Pinot Noir and 24% Chardonnay, of which 33% was barrel fermented. This wine is ripe, broad, savory, shows tiny bubbles, comes across fresh with kirsch-like aromatics and flavors. It's dry, medium-bodied, zesty and exuberant. Drink it over the next 5-6 years (2015-2021).

Schramsberg, founded in 1862 by German immigrant Jacob Schram, fell victim to hard times in 1912 but was resurrected by the Davies Family in 1965. The quality seems to be going from strength to strength and these were the best sparkling wines I've tasted from them. Current owners Hugh and Monique Davies look over 43 acres on Diamond Mountain, and utilize fruit sourced from cool-climate areas ranging from Carneros, farther south in Marin County, to the north in Anderson Valley. There are a number of relatively small cuvées that are offered to their membership, and largely never seen in the commercial marketplace at retailers or on restaurant wine lists. " Dec 2015

Winery: "The 2012 Brut Rosé has generous aromas of mixed red berries, orange blossom, and white peach. Its fruitful nose is complemented by notes of shortcake and cream. The palate bursts with flavors of raspberry sorbet, lemon custard, and summer apricot. The wine has a fresh and juicy acidity which drives to a supple, round finish.

Enjoy this rich, delicious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, pizza, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, burgers, chocolate raspberry tarts and creamy cheeses with summer fruits."
