96pts 2018 Ultimate Spirits Challenge
The perfect blend of art and craft, Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door Tennessee Bourbon is less than a year old, has already sold out once, and is garnering critical acclaim across the industry. He tapped master distillers Ryan Perry and Jordan Via to help his vision come to fruition. Their expertise mingles with Mr. Dylan's creativity to deliver a bottle with a label reminiscent of his ironwork sculptures, with rural iconography — crows, wagon wheels — in silhouette. In case you weren't aware, Mr. Dylan dabbles in several art forms besides the performing arts, painting and metal sculpting and working among them. Sip this Heaven's Door neat or mix it in a cocktail - it won an award for being cocktail worthy too. And maybe listen to some Dylan for the perfect pairing...

2018 Ultimate Spirits Challenge: Designated Extraordinary, Ultimate Recommendation, Finalist and Great Value. "Aromas of spiced wheat dried apricot and rose petals, jump from the glass. Cardamom and coriander are abundant in the mouth, with light caramel and hints of vanilla. The texture is clean and soft with and leaves the mouth refreshed."

F. Paul Pacult's Spirits Journal: Designated 5 Star, Highest Recommendation. "A succulent, harmonious bourbon that hits all the right notes at the right moments for the category; a study of equal parts elegance and power." - F. Paul Pacult,  Editor

NYT: "90 proof. On the nose, this is a classic, no-fuss bourbon, though with more oak-derived notes — think caramel, vanilla and wood char — than you’d expect from a seven-year-old. I also smelled sandalwood, leather and linseed oil. And there’s a creamy cola note that suggests a good bit of rye in the mash bill. (Mr. Dylan and his team say they use just 70 percent corn, leaving a lot of room for other grains to show their influence.) The palate opens with a soft cocoa and buttercream note, then sharpens toward black pepper and cigar tobacco. The finish is slightly bitter, with the sweet spiciness of an Atomic Fireball. My favorite of the bunch. " ~ Clay Risen, author of “American Whiskey, Bourbon & Rye: A Guide to the Nation’s Favorite Spirit.” Apr 2018

Distillery: "We wanted to create a collection of American whiskeys that, in their own way, tell a story." ~ Bob Dylan

A unique mash bill from Tennessee, Heaven’s Door 7-year-old Tennessee bourbon is deliciously smooth and satisfying, with a bouquet of nougat and fresh baked bread. Honeyed beeswax and butternut toffee greet the palate ending with notes of Amburana wood and creamed corn.

Heaven’s Door is an award-winning collection of hand-crafted American whiskeys developed in partnership with Bob Dylan. Appropriately housed in 140 year-old church, the Heaven’s Door distillery is a portal into a “spiritual” center for craft whiskey and the Heaven’s Door brand. Our hand-made copper pot and hybrid pot stills will replace the pipe organ and bespoke iron gates will welcome all.

The perfect blend of art and craft, each bottle showcases Dylan’s distinctive welded iron gates that he created in his metalworking studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks. A unique mash bill from Tennessee, the Heaven’s Door Tennessee Straight Bourbon utilizes 30% “small grains” to complement the character imparted from spending nearly 7 years in new American oak barrels. The result is smooth and lasting with notes of vanilla and baked bread layered over a bed of toasted oak.
