92pts James Suckling
The La Espera Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a fiesta of flavor, waiting for a reason to improve your meal.  Pour your first glasses and enjoy them with bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with manchego cheese and a marcona almond. Follow that fabulous combination with a tasty pork adobo dish over jasmine rice. Baked pastitsio pasta is another terrific option for this Reserva Cabernet. As we move towards cooler days, this La Espera can cozy up very nicely indeed to a lamb stew with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. Hungry yet?

James Suckling: "Brambleberries, blackberries, underbrush and vanilla with a touch of ripe steminess, which makes for an enjoyable nose. The palate shows grainy tannins, lots of pretty acidity and a chewy finish. Drink in 2020." Apr 2018

Winery: "Strong garnet red coloured wine. It is rich in aromas and fruity hints from blackcurrant, cherries and blackberry combined with a delicious supply of green pepper, vanilla and toasted notes from its time with French and American oak. A sturdy wine with an harmonious balance of ripe, full and fruity flavours and a lingering finish. We recommend serving it with hard cheese, grilled red meat, pork dishes, rich winter-warming meat stews and preparations with mushrooms."
