The estate of Fattoria Rodano dates back to the 16th century. It has been owned by the Pozzesi family since that time. They've honed their craft beautifully over the centuries, and this Rodano Mon Nene Super Tuscan from their vineyard is evidence of that fact. Open a bottle and offer a platter of one of the best hors d'oeuvres we've ever had: fried grilled cheese fingers. Need we say more? They were served to us at Harrys Bar in Florence, Italy and we've been dreaming of them ever since. Barbecued short ribs finished on the grill for optimal caramelization is a perfect entree for this savory, rich Tuscan red. Or, bring out its delicious earthiness with a porcini, veal and sausage lasagne. Whatever your food choices, make sure you've got another bottle on hand to go with chunks of a good quality Pecorino, some roasted walnuts, and dried cherries. You'll be glad you did.

Wine Spectator:  "A deep, intense style, exhibiting violet, black currant and black cherry notes accented by spice and a touch of earth. Firm, with ripe, mouthcoating tannins on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2027." Jul 2017

Winery: "Intense, concentrated and deep ruby-colored, this wine offers complex aromas of red fruit. It is rich and dense in the mouth, yet harmonious, with sweet, balanced tannins. Its tremendous depth and structure ensures an extraordinary longevity."
