98pts Jeb Dunnuck

Jeb Dunnuck:  "The same blend as the straight Vertigo (52% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 18% Mourvèdre), the 2016 Vertigo 22 offers a similar profile of deep, decadent notes of blueberries, graphite, smoked earth, and asphalt. More closed, backward, and dense than the classic cuvée, this full-bodied, incredibly layered, multi-dimensional effort needs 2-3 years or bottle age and will cruise in cold cellars over the following 10-15 years."    Nov 2018

Winery:  "Vertigo is the original GSM from Booker. Unlike Oublie, the dominant varietal is Syrah and is therefore more reflective of the blends found in Northern Rhone. Vertigo is deep and brooding in the glass with aromas of dark forest berries, spice and hints of vanilla. The palate is still youthful but approachable even after the extra months in barrel. Dark cherries and berry fruits dominate with a generous handful of mixed spice, mineral and savory notes. Delicious now but will benefit from cellaring."
