93pts Jeb Dunnuck
Long Shadows is the name of a portfolio of 7 brands that began in 2000 as an exercise to demonstrate the world class quality of Washington State viticulture. In 2003, Allen Shoup selected master winemakers from around the world whom he felt could showcase the pinnacle of what the noble varietals/blends, grown on the best sites in the Columbia Valley, could achieve. He partnered with each of them on their projects and gave them creative license and necessary resources to develop each project as they saw fit. Every year each of the wines receives high ratings from highly esteemed wine publications. John Duval of Penfolds Grange and John Duval Wines is responsible for the Sequel Syrah. Don't miss out winelovers!

Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Sequel is another ripe, sexy, yet pure and balanced vintage for this cuvée. Lovely blackberry, smoked earth, graphite, and ground pepper all flow to a medium to full-bodied, silky, elegant wine that packs less of a punch than normal, yet is balanced and layered, with a great finish. It will benefit from a year or two in bottle and keep for a decade." April, 2019

Winery: "Deeply concentrated with vibrant aromas and flavors of dark cherries, wild blackberries, smoked meats and spicy oak. A rich layer of silky tannins coat the palate without overshadowing the wine’s bright and lively character."
