Paul Jaboulet Aine La Maison Bleue Hermitage 2016
Antonio Galloni's Vinous: "Vivid purple. Expressive, smoke- and spice-accented dark fruit preserve, potpourri and incense scents are complemented by hints of licorice and olive paste. At once ripe and lively in the mouth, offering densely packed blackberry, blueberry and spicecake flavors that become spicier with aeration. Sneaky tannins give shape and solid grip to an impressively long, energetic finish that features lingering suggestions of candied flowers and dark berries. Drinking window: 2025-2-34." Sep 2019
Winery: "In Hermitage, the Syrah wines are sourced from 30-year-old vines in the Les Dionnières lieu-dit; the grapes are raised carefully: organic fertilizer and no chemical insecticides. The family also produces limited quantities of Hermitage white wines, made from 100% Roussanne grapes; in Cornas, a small amount of red wine is produced.
The entire domaine has received the High Environmental Value certification from the French Ministry of Agriculture, recognition of the domaine’s efforts to implement environmentally respectful practices, according to Vincent Jaboulet."
