This gorgeous, full-bodied BV Napa Cabernet is made for robust dishes made with lamb, meats and game. Our first choice with this archetypal Napa Cab is Moroccan slow-cooked lamb and couscous flavored with chopped mint, slivered almonds and lemon zest. Another option is a rich platter of osso buco. The robust sauce will work beautifully with the big personality of this refined bottle from BV. On the simpler side, grill up some filet mignons to bring out the beautiful tannins, and just when you plate them, top with a generous spoonful of Roquefort and 2-3 twists of freshly ground pepper. Heaven by way of Napa Valley. As a last course, the BV Napa Cab pairs famously with an American Tarentaise cheese. It's a deeply complex cow's milk cheese which has been aged to perfection that will send everyone home happy. Or, pour another glass and enjoy it with a sumptuous dark chocolate pudding. You won't need much else except for a dollop of whipped cream...

Winery: "Deep and intense, our 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon reveals the superb concentration of the vintage. Opulent layers of blackberry, black cherry and juicy plum character unfold with complex nuances of violet and mocha. Ample, mature tannins provide firm structure and rich texture for the mouthfilling flavors. Nicely integrated hints of allspice, cinnamon, and caramel from toasted oak barrels lace the aromas and lingering finish. This big, generous Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is approachable and delicious now, yet promises cellar worthiness.

Dry, early and shaking is how 2014 will be remembered in Napa Valley, yet it had a silver lining with small, concentrated berries and high quality. February’s rains helped to relieve three years of drought conditions. Although it was an early harvest, the grapes received long hang-time on the vine because budbreak also began early in the spring. Just as we began crushing, a dramatic 6.0 earthquake shook Napa Valley awake on August 24. Across all varieties, the grapes ripened with excellent acidity and rich, mature flavors at lower sugar levels, grapes were chosen from the upper half of Napa Valley, with a focus on our BV Rutherford, St. Helena and Calistoga ranches.
