This exceptional red wine derives its name from the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, located in the province of Siena. The term "Nobile" seems to originate from the fact that in the past its production was reserved exclusively for the aristocratic, noble families of the town.  Carpineto has chosen to age this wine one year longer than the 3 years required by appellation rules for a Riserva wine. Consider it a gift. Pour some generous glasses and dig into ssome or all of the following:
    • antipasti fried cauliflower, grilled eggplant, prosciutto and sopressata
    • Tuscan chickpea and farro soup with vegetables
    • gnocchi with sage brown butter and freshly grated Parmigiano
    • classic spaghetti bolognaise topped with the same fresh grating
Wine Spectator: "This is dense, with black cherry, blackberry, tobacco and leather flavors, picking up mineral and spice details on the long aftertaste. Shows ample tannins, fine depth and complexity. Drink now through 2023." May 2017

Winery: "Bouquet: ethereal, extraordinarily elegant with hints of violet and wood. Flavor: dry, harmonic, fruity and velvety, with an elegant texture and long finish.  Serving temperature: 68F, in a decanter. Gastronomy: aged cheeses and game, especially wild boar."
