    From Sicily, we have the Feudo Principi di Butera Nero d'Avola. The Nero d'Avola varietal is unique to Sicily, and delivers bold fruit, spices and an intoxicating earthiness as a rule. The Principi di Butera is no exception. Think about kicking off the festivities with bbq beef and bacon sliders. Your diners will thank you. And you can thank yourself for having the good sense to scoop up this delicious bargain. Maybe even make a toast to you. If you'd like to really pay homage to this Sicilian siren, whip up some Farsumagru, rolled steak, stuffed Sicilian style, with meats (we recommend salumi), cheese, eggs and vegetables. Then grill and reap the rewards. Spaghetti Putanesca is another great option. The intense flavors of the sauce, and the heat of the chilies are perfect opposite the ripe, dark fruit in the wine. Or you may choose to bring out the heady tannins with a butterflied, grilled leg of lamb. As they say in Sicily, mangiamo!

Palate: Dry and medium-bodied, revealing mouthwatering red fruit; hints of wild mushrooms and espresso lead to substantial and polished tannins; beautiful graphite minerals linger on the long finish. Food combinations: Pairs beautifully with aged pecorino cheese and barbecued meats and richly-flavored dishes."
