Your first bottle of Gloria Ferrer Estate Carneros Pinot Noir will go very quickly, especially if you put out a big platter of lollipop rib lamb chops done on the grill with a pesto dipping sauce. Moving right along, the succulent, dark fruit, beautiful earthiness, and near perfect balance of soft tannins and perky acidity allow this Pinot prize to work well with lean beef, duck, pork loin, salmon and much more. It's phenomenal with turkey; snap it up and avoid the scramble in November. Are we full of good ideas, today or what?! Our first choice for an entree is grilled salmon with a sweet mustard vinaigrette. Pay homage to the rich fruit in this Ferrer red with seared duck breasts and a balsamic cherry compote. A more earthy choice is fennel-crusted Ahi tuna topped with a garlic aioli. Make sure there is another bottle or two ready to go in that decanter. You'll want it for the Manchego cheese you're serving with toasted walnut bread... In a word: OH YEAH!

Wine Enthusiast:  "This wine is lifted by vibrant acidity and shows bread-like aromas accented with wild strawberry, compost and forest floor flavors. Light-bodied and fresh on the palate, it's nicely crafted and table-ready." Apr 2017

wa Pale ruby colored, the 2013 Estate Pinot Noir is scented of baked cherries, game and forest floor with hints of fungi and yeast extract. Some evolution is revealed on the medium-bodied palate, with a good amount of savory and dried berry flavors supported by soft tannins and finishing with good persistence.

Winery:  "Bright black cherry with a touch of pomegranate drives this wine. The generous fruit is offset by spice and earth in the background that builds through the mid-palate. The texture is silky with enough crispness to carry the spice into the long finish.

This Pinot Noir displays bright red fruit and a spice upfront with a mouthfeel that goes all the way through the finish. Try with pan seared duck breast, roasted quail or grilled lamb. Notable side dishes would be vegetables with a sweet profile such as: carrots, beets, caramelized onions and bell peppers. Pairs beautifully with a wide variety of hard or soft cheeses accompanied by fall fruits, dried fruits and compotes."
