"This is a remarkable wine. It is simply loaded. This is a modern-day classic that could compete with the very finest Cabernet-based wines in the world." ~ Robert Parker, Jr.

From winemaker Timothy Milos, of Opus One, Stag's Leap and Cliff Lede fame, we have the Hidden Ridge 55% Slope Cabernet Sauvignon. Mr. Parker positively raves about this wine, calling it remarkable, irresistible, and a world-class Cab. What more do you need to know?

Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon 55% Slope comes from the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas Mountains. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard planted at 1,700 feet. This is a remarkable wine and reminiscent of the great classics from the golden era of the Mayacamas on the Napa side (such as the 1968, 1970, 1973 and 1974) come to mind when tasting this beauty. It is simply loaded. Dense purple in color, the wine has notes of licorice, crème de cassis, Asian plum sauce, cedar wood and earth. Full-bodied, opulent and irresistible already, it is capable (because of the impeccable balance and purity) of aging 20-25 or more years. This is a modern-day classic that could compete with the very finest Cabernet-based wines in the world. Drink 2016-2041.

When I first started doing my centralized tastings of the many wineries that I could not possibly have time to visit, one of the remarkable standouts for Cabernet Sauvignon was Hidden Ridge. These are clearly world-class Cabernet Sauvignons and should be considered by any serious collector for their cellars. " Mar 2016

Winery:  "Ripe black fruit aromas pour from the glass followed by notes of spice, cocoa, black tea and hibiscus. The full-bodied palate is dense with the flavors of cocoa, blackberry and brown sugar, carried on smooth tannins and supple texture. The flavors of tea, mocha and cherries carry through on the long finish."

Trade Notes: "Winemaker Timothy Milos cut his teeth with the best (Opus One, Stag's Leap, Cliff Lede) and has helped develop this young property into one of the best sources for collectible Cabernet in Northern California.

Sonoma deserves every bit as much attention for the 2013 vintage as Napa, and coming flying out from under the radar in this benchmark year is Hidden Ridge. Just on the other side of Spring Mountain, opposite St Helena, Hidden Ridge had as great a year as any in 2013, scoring 100-points for their Reserve Cabernet, and a stellar 97+ from Robert Parker for their ‘55% Slope’ Cabernet Sauvignon."
