Two Thumbs Up - Wired For Wine

"But just like Paso is made richer by the diversity of its land, so this wine is made equally distinct by its mix of grapes – a combination that is concentrated, soft, supple and expressive." ~ Austin Hope, Winemaker

Austin Hope, well-known and beloved winemaker, of Austin Hope, Liberty School, Treana, Troublemaker and Candor wine labels, has come out with yet another delicious red for us to savor - his Quest Proprietary Red. Among other things, it's perfect for a big spread of food and the myriad of flavors and intensities which are found there. We see it with a roulade of boneless turkey leg stuffed with leeks, parmesan, sausage and sage too if you're not going whole turkey. Roasted leg of lamb surrounded by potatoes, carrots and shallots with a homemade mint sauce on the side will work too. You can't go wrong with just a glass on its own in a comfortable chair in front of a fire either. What are you in the mood for winelovers?

Winery: "Appearance: Dark Ruby/purple with a claret rim. Aroma: Vanilla, caramel, cassis, red fruit. Palate: Rich clean berry flavors with firm tannins finishes with a long, toasty French vanilla."

"Quest is not bound by history, tradition or norms of winemaking. It is a new wine that aims to express what can be produced in Paso Robles, our mountainous, oak-studded, maritime-influenced home. My father first brought us here in 1978, seeing the potential to grow red varietals in Paso’s varied landscape and soils. Since then, we’ve been exploring vineyard sites across the region, discovering the uniqueness of each one. This wine displays the lushness of Cabernet, the foundation of our blend. But just like Paso is made richer by the diversity of its land, so this wine is made equally distinct by its mix of grapes – a combination that is concentrated, soft, supple and expressive." ~ Austin Hope, Winemaker
