"An exceptionally classic California Cabernet presenting aromas of both ripe and slightly tart fruit aromas escorted by dusty soil and stems. Deeply round palate..." ~ 2017 Ultimate Wine Challenge

This rich Rodney Strong Estate Alexander Valley Cabernet is the perfect companion for hearty meat and lamb dishes. Pour a glass and serve it with a ripe Camembert and some austere water crackers while you consider your energy level for the meal. We love this Estate Cabernet with Spanish beef tenderloinAsturias, pan-seared beef tenderloin steaks which are bathed in a delicious blue cheese-white wine sauce. The rich complexity of the wine will match the decadence of the cheese beautifully. A simpler but equally mouth-watering option is lamb chops with a balsamic/shallot reduction. The wonderful fruit in this Alexander Valley Cab works terrifically with the sweet notes in the balsamic. Serve the lamb chops with a fried, baked eggplant dish. For the beautifully developed tannins, throw some burgers on the grill - burgers made from a mix of beef, short rib and brisket mix. The char with the tannins is sublimely delicious. The gorgeous, sturdy palate and fruit in this Rodney Strong will end the meal on a very high note if you open that last bottle and serve it with a dark chocolate/brioche bread pudding with a red berry sauce. Sounds good to us.

2017 Ultimate Wine Challenge:  Designated Excellent, Highly Recommended. "An exceptionally classic California Cabernet presenting aromas of both ripe and slightly tart fruit aromas escorted by dusty soil and stems. Deeply round palate of red berries, cranberries, and herbs. Long finish and soft tannins."

Winery:  "A powerful Cabernet from the hillsides of Alexander Valley, this wine is lush with blackberries, dark plum, cassis and dark chocolate. The notes of dried herbs, black pepper and minerality reflect the terroir of the Alexander Valley. The soft, supple, and mature tannins give this wine a strong backbone, while the 18 months of barrel aging have softened the wine enough to enjoy now.

Pair this wine with grilled rib eye steak, burgers and spaghetti Bolognese, or cellar for enjoyment over the next three to five years."
