You'll want to get some of this Shafer Vineyards One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon. Shafer turned out their first wine in 1981, and two years later, Doug Shafer joined his father John, and the rest is history. One Point Five refers to 'a generation and a half', not two, because they are such a great team. This signature blend is sure to fit in with lots of your meaty entrees. You just need to decide who you're going to share it with... It's ready to drink now, or you can find a shiny pedestal for it in your cellar, and let it settle in with the other bottles for a spell. Then get ready to belly up to the good glasses...

James Suckling:  "This shows nice concentration on the nose in terms of ash and blackcurrant but also some pretty floral elements with violets and jasmine. Full-bodied with a strong entrée of black fruit but with driven acidity, muscular tannins and a long finish. A blend of 95% cabernet sauvignon, 3% merlot, 1% malbec and 1% petit verdot. Drink in 2019."  Dec 2017

Vinous: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five is a fabulous example of the year at its best. Super-ripe red cherry, pomegranate, mint, rose petal and spice infuse this voluptuous, racy Cabernet Sauvignon. Readers looking for a wine to drink with minimal cellaring will find much to admire in this sexy, racy Cabernet. Even with all of its up-front fruit, the 2015 has quite a bit of depth and tannin to support at least a handful of years of fine drinking. Drinking window: 2018 - 2030." Mar 2018

Wine Spectator:  "Strikingly complex and engaging, offering tiers of flavor, including dark berry, cedar, graphite and oak, presented in a style that lets the elements speak through the tannins. Drink now through 2030."

Winery: "The 2015 bursts with bright, energetic aromas and flavors of fresh black cherry, black plum right from the tree, pomegranate, wet slate, peppercorn, lavender, and savory herbs. The flavors have long, beautiful length in the mouth and the wine’s classic Stags Leap District tannins offer structure and promise for delicious things to come in the cellar."
