Poured at Per Se during past warm weather seasons, and rightly so, we present the Berthier Sancerre Rose. Simply put, we're hooked. The nose of this Berthier delivers serious come-hither notes of fine florality and gorgeous fruit; we got fresh, ripe apricot. The flavors conjured summer for us, with fragrant fruit and gorgeous minerality. We had it last night with simply sauteed salt and pepper ginger salmon, buttery rice with slivered almonds and steamed brocolli. It would go well with an Indian chicken korma dish too. Spicy fish tacos are another great option, as is a simple pasta dish tossed with grilled shrimp, grape tomatoes, anchovies and ramps in aglio e olio sauce. You will want an excuse to open another bottle: make it an apricot tart with a creme fraiche. Oh, and you can't beat this price on the web with a stick, or even find it for that matter...
