91pts James Suckling

Poured by the glass @ Locanda Verde & Jean-Georges

They've been at it at Bisol since 1542, yes; with a 5, so this Jeio is a natural for getting the party rolling. At this price, you can mix it in delicious cocktails without feeling the sting on your wallet, or enjoy it neat with a raspberry bobbing in the glass for a little extra happy. Try it with some truffle fries or some shrimp tempura to big out its delicate earthiness. Roast chicken with roasted baby spring vegetables will go together nicely too, as will grilled halibut with a brown butter sauce. It will only make an apple tart better if you still have room for dessert! Benvenuti in primavera winelovers!

James Suckling: "A fresh and lively Prosecco with lots of lemon and lime character, as well as spiced pears. Medium body, lovely fruit and a fresh finish. Bottled in 2018. Drink now." Nov 2018

Winery: "With its fresh personality and decisive notes of golden apple, citrus, and spring blossom, this is the perfect wine for drinking throughout a whole meal. It also makes a superb companion to a round of sophisticated hors d’oeuvres.

Appearance: brilliant, vivid straw yellow, with an especially fine, vivacious perlage. On the nose: charming, elegant, it yields notes of fruit, with subtle strains of ripened yellow fruits. In the mouth: soft, elegant, and savoury, the developed notes of fruit lend the aromatics a suggestion of fine perfume."
