Bozeto de Exopto Rioja 2019
Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate: "The red 2019 Bozeto de Exopto is a blend of 50% Tempranillo from Ábalos with the Mediterranean touch of 40% Garnacha and 10% Graciano from Alfaro to add freshness. He wants the wine to express the Garnacha character, and it does but in a subtler way than if it was a varietal bottling. But all the grapes seem nicely integrated and complement each other. The wine fermented in a combination of stainless steel, concrete vats and used barriques, where it matured for six months. 2019 is a warmer, Mediterranean vintage, and the wine is soft and approachable, juicy and fruit driven. Drink date: 2020-2024." Oct 2020
James Suckling: "A creamy, full-bodied red with plum and berry character. Nice purity of fruit to this. It’s full-bodied and layered with polish and beauty. Lovely tannins here. Drink or hold." Nov 2020
Winery: "Deep red with a bright rim. Spicy cherry and black raspberry on the nose, with brisk mineral and floral overtones. Juicy and focused, offering sweet raspberry and blackberry flavors and snappy acidity. Impresses with precision rather than power, and finishes with juicy berry flavors and good persistence.
Food Pairing: Roast turkey, cured cheeses, orange sauces, grilled meats, fondues, paella, Italian and spicy food."
