The BV Reserve Tapestry Napa Valley Red Blend masterfully weaves together five varietals to deliver a truly spectacular wine. The rich, dark fruit, coupled with spice and earth accents, and lush tannins enable this BV to pair beautifully with lamb, beef, duck and salmon. Pour a glass and bring out the spice and cedar of this opulent Napa Cab blend with a platter of carpaccio of beef, sprinkled with peppery arugala, shaved Pecorino and some top shelf EVOO. Not a bad start... We love the rustic side of this Reserve red with a roasted lamb shoulder with black olives and parsnips. A lighter choice would be a warm lentil salad served with lamb sausage. Duck breast with roasted sweet potatoes and a sherry-maple endive will wake up the concentrated, intense fruit of this Tapestry of flavors. If simple is on the menu for you, a grilled salmon steak will spotlight the elegance and impressive layers in this BV Reserve. This Napa red is such a great dinner date because it can go casual and down-to-earth with the forest flavors, but you can also dress it up and parade it around as the showstopper it is with a classically serious grilled steak to embrace those supple tannins....What's your pleasure, winelovers?
James Suckling: "Lots of ripe fruit with very fine tannins and a juicy mouthfeel. Medium to full body, polished and round texture and a flavorful finish. Soft with lots of flavor. Drink or hold." May 2019
Robert Parker, Jr,'s Wine Advocate: The 2015 Reserve Tapestry Proprietary Red Wine is blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot aged in a mix of French, American and Hungarian oak (60% new) for 22 months. It has a deep garnet-purple color and quite a toasty nose to begin, giving way to a beautiful perfume of roses and lilacs with a core of cassis, redcurrant jelly and blackberry tart plus a touch of cedar chest. Full, velvety and seductive, it delivers layers of perfumed red and black fruit with a very long finish. Drink date: 2019-2031." Oct 2018
Winery: "This is a wine that shows the artistry of blending five Bordeaux-heritage grape varieties, which contributed layer-upon-layer of flavor complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon gave the wine its generous core of briary blackberry and cassis expression, while we increased the amount of Merlot this year to tame the tannins and add plush mid-palate texture. Malbec contributed deep plum notes, while Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completed the blend with nuances of rose, forest loam and graphite."
