91pts Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate
For over 200 years and 5 generations, the Margan family has been at the helm of Chateau La Canorgue. All that experience is one of the many reasons why you'll want to give their Chateau La Canargue Rouge a try. Along with luscious fruit, it's got serious earthy and herbal elements and beautifully smooth tannins. Enjoy your first glasses with bowls of French onion soup. The rich onion broth is perfect for the earthy side of the wine, as is the Gruyere cheese. Hang onto that French vibe a little longer and saute some duck sausages. Place them on top of a warm lentil salad that's been tossed with a garlicky Dijon vinaigrette and dive in. A big platter of barbecued spare ribs is another delicious option. If you're not in the mood for meaty, make it a mushroom lasagne. We like to pick a variety of mushrooms when making it; the 3 or 4 kinds that look freshest. Bon apetit winelovers!!

Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate: "The finest red from this appellation I tasted this year, Chateau la Canorgue's 2016 Luberon combines pungent, savory notes of leather, clove, allspice, espresso and black olive with plummy fruit. A blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% Carignan and aged in a combination of foudre and tank, it's medium to full-bodied, with silky, supple tannins and a long, cool finish. It should drink well for 5-6 years (2018-2024)." Nov 2018

Winery: "Harmony and structure. Excellent fruit. Subtle notes of morello cherry and cooked fruit. Excellent substance on enrobed tannins. A lovely laying down wine which you can nevertheless begin drinking now."

Trade Notes: "This magical wine transports you straight to the south of France! Full of beautiful dark, spicy fruit, with aromas of thyme, rosemary, lavender, olive, and black pepper... Provence in a glass!"
