92 Points, James Suckling
We think you should grill a beef tenderloin and serve it with a red wine-blackberry sauce and some baby spring vegetables. Lamb chops with a fried herb salsa are another fine choice. Or a classic coq au vin with prunes. Once you've fully enjoyed the savory part of the meal, we say open another bottle, and fill your glasses to go with some rich chocolate truffles, the likes of which are sold at Vosges Chocolates. That's really all you need to know.
James Suckling: "Tobacco and blueberry aromas, as well as violets and cassis. The palate has impressive tannin structure with good carry and balance. Plenty of blueberry, plum and chocolate flavors on offer. A blend of 67% cabernet sauvignon, 12% merlot, 8% cabernet franc, 8% petit syrah, 3% petit verdot and 2% malbec. Drink or hold."
Winery: "Under the winemaking direction of Tuck Beckstoffer and Shawn Johnson, we have selected vineyards on Pritchard Hill, St. Helena and Pope Valley along with a small amount of Mendocino fruit. By blending Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc, we have created a wine with complex aromas, great balance and a long smooth finish."
