We are loving this Domaine de l'Ecu Classic Muscadet winelovers!! Not just because it is spectacular with a platter of oysters on the half shell, but because its gorgeous acidity and minerality are perfect with fried chicken, even if that chicken has some heat to it! Not a fan of raw oysters? Roll them in some seasoned cornmeal and fry em up; the Domaine de l'Ecu will not disappoint. Catfish and grits? Yes. Corn tacos with grilled chicken - that works too. What sounds good to you??

91 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar: "The Muscadet "Classic" bottling from Domaine de l’Ecu is the estate’s young vine cuvée. The 2020 version delivers superb aromatic complexity in its blend of breadfruit, a hint of pear, beautiful leesy elements that show sweetly nutty in tone, salty minerality and a top note of dried flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, focused, complex and nicely balanced, with a good core, fine mineral drive and bounce, zesty acids and a long, wide-open and classy finish. This is a beautiful entry-level Muscadet."

Winery: "This cuvée is intended to be “Classic” only to stand out from a fashion tending to promote wines whose aromas have their origin neither in the grape variety nor in the terroir… This Muscadet is made and vinified to be appreciated in its youth, "on the fruit".

Straw yellow color, crystalline. Nose combining smoky notes on a background of citrus fruits and white flowers, fine notes of encaustic. The mouth is smooth, presents a beautiful volume but also a tension and a freshness which could not displease the amateurs of Muscadet. This cuvée will perfectly accompany a seafood platter, fatty fish (mackerel / sardine / salmon type) and will of course be the ideal companion for your aperitif. Obviously, this is THE estate's cuvée to taste your dozen oysters."
