In 1748 Antoine Quiot bought his first Chateauneuf-du-Pape vines, and the family Quiot has been crafting delicious wines ever since. We've got their Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and it's ready to drink now. Pair it with a classic Coq au Vin if you're feeling your inner francophile. Pork shank braised in white wine with garlic, cippoline onions and thyme is another tasty option. Make everyone's day and bring out a French Epoisse cheese with some dried apricots and toasted pecans to nibble on with another glass or two. Vous serez content de l'avoir fait, winelovers!

Wine Spectator: "Ripe, sleek and captivating for its bright and forward display of cassis, cherry paste and boysenberry compote flavors. The finish is lined with red licorice and mulling spice accents, featuring a flash of roasted apple wood. This is for fans of the modern style. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan, Counoise, Terret, Picpoul, Muscardin, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Clairette and Roussanne. Drink now through 2034. 16,666 cases made, 2,000 cases imported." Feb 2022

Winery: "Pale plus dark red with clear purple rim. The nose is warm and beginning to show an attractive complexity characterized by understated red fruits and spice along with leather and tertiary notes. The palate is composed and lighter weight, again exhibiting a measure of bottle development in an appealing mix of red cherry and spice notes. There is a fine, balanced structure. This is an elegant, not heavyweight style expressing Cinsault and Grenache in particular, with the emphasis on finesse rather than power."
