Food Pairing

From iconic French winery Domaine Huet, it doesn't get much better than this Domaine Huet Le Mont Sec Vouvray. Think salads, grilled chicken, salmon burgers, semi-spicy pad thai, and lots more. It tastes even better when savored on a patio, deck, balcony or boat...

Jancis Robinson on Gaston Huet, the "father of Domaine Huet Vouvrays": He is "the most respected producer of Vouvray in the Loire." Aug 2013

Winery: "Purchased in 1957, Le Mont lies on the esteemed Premiere Cote. With less clay and more stone than Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont yields young wines of intense minerality. The wines are the estate's most reticent, but develop the strongest perfume with age. Size: 8 hectares."

By far, the oldest wine I have ever tried. I had read warnings to let this breathe as it might taste and smell quite strange at first, and it definitely did, but after about 2 hours it turned into probably the most interesting and enjoyable white wine I have ever had. Really glad to have had the opportunity to taste something this unusual for me.
