James Suckling: "A lovely nose of lemon curd, baked green apple and a bit of pine. Medium-bodied with a delightful, smooth texture. Very elegant and refined. Well balanced and linear with a savory finish. Charming. Drink now or hold." Jan 2022
Jeb Dunnuck: "I love the Chardonnay from this estate, and their appellation 2019 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is well worth seeking out, revealing a lighter gold hue as well as a crisp, nicely defined bouquet of poached pear, citrus, spice, and hazelnuts. Beautiful on the palate as well, it's medium-bodied and has nicely integrated acidity, notable balance, and a great finish." Jul 2021
Wine Spectator: "Rich and finely textured, with concentrated white fruit flavors that show buttery hints. The spicy finish lingers with minerally snap and creamy accents. Drink now through 2025. 18,000 cases made." Oct 2021
Winery: Bright citrus notes, white flower, nuances of dried apricot and hints of flint.
Palate is energetic with acidity and tension balanced with flavors of
orchard fruit and almond, finishing long and bright.
There is a great deal of beauty and expression to be found in the 2019
vintage. The growing season began with a cool winter and heavy rainfall;
we even had snow on our estate! We already had cover crop coming up at
this time, so the snow really oxygenated soils and brought them to life.
Spring was clear and bright, with early bud break and cool, sunny days.
Summer followed with mild temperatures allowing moderate ripening and
resulting in an eloquent and expressive vintage with superb fruit quality.
