95+pts Antonio Galloni's Vinous
From a bulwark of the venerated Napa Valley wine community, the Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It's just about ready to drink, and has remarkable ageability. It's not you'll find all over the place, and we were lucky to grab some. You've got plenty of time to think about your pairings, the setting, the occasion, and the lucky people you'll share it with. Let everyone ooh and ahh over this stunning Napa Cab and offer the first glass without accompaniment. Or, you could have blue cheese sliders on the side if you felt like showing off the tannins in the wine... Pan-roasted veal chops with a fresh herb salsa will bring out the savoury side of the wine as well as its elegance. For the wow factor, and to brag about the bold, powerful side of this Forman, make it a rosemary-black pepper rib roast of beef with porcini gravy. Some buttery, garlic mashed potatoes on the side wouldn't hurt either. Short ribs braised with mushrooms and tomatoes over creamy polenta will satisfy the comfort food category, and still make for a memorable pairing. What dreams do you have for your Forman??

Antoni Galloni's Vinous: ""Forman's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous. Rich and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2017 has gorgeous depth and a touch of exoticism that is so appealing. Ripe red berry fruit, floral overtones and a touch of spice are all laced together. Just bottled, the 2017 is super impressive, even in the early going. This is an especially racy style for Ric Forman, and yet he clearly got every ounce of potential out of the year. Drinking window: 2024-2042." Jan 2020

Winery: "I love the very warm earthy Cabernet tones – is this from Bordeaux? Layer upon layer open as the wine aerates. Tobacco and ripe berry jam aromas blend so beautifully with a subtle vanilla-smoky oak background. One could go on and on as there are so many agreeable facets to ponder and enjoy. Wow! The flavors to do not disappoint either. The multi-faceted aromas are echoed in the flavor and are surrounded with a mouth filling richness of ultra-fine and ripe phenolics with a delicious bold finish. It’s hard not love this one!"

Credo: "Influenced early on by the wines and winemaking practices of the Bordeaux region of France, I have consistently sought a similar perfection for the wines of Forman Vineyard. If I had to choose two words which embody the character of Forman Vineyard wines they would be finesse and elegance." ~ Ric Forman, Winemaker
