Winery: "La Caravelle Listrac-Médoc, from old vines, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, and is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. This Cuvée is harvested, vinified, traditionally assembled, and results in a particularly fine and flavorful wine, showing a beautiful aromatic complexity.
This decidedly full wine shows a beautiful ruby color, quite deep. The nose is expressive of dark red/black fruit: blackcurrant, blackberries, slightly minty. The scent of wood, pronounced mocha is still quite present. On the palate, first comes a feel of medium body then it evolves with gentle, supple tannins, characteristic of this sunny vintage. Very pleasant ending notes of fruit and licorice, as well as a beautiful long finish. While La Caravelle is quite enjoyable today, it will only keep perfecting when cellared 7 to 15 years."
