91pts Wine Advocate
We love a wine (or anything else for that matter) that's described as "downright sexy".  Parker's Wine Advocate positively raves about this spectacular value from the Languedoc Roussillon.  And why shouldn't they?  The Domaine Lafage Lieu Dit La Narassa is seductively delicious and deeply flavorful.  It's got dark, rich fruit, some earthiness and chocolate, nice tannins, and especially, a smoothness which rolls across the tongue so effortlessly, you'll find it hard to stop at just one or two glasses.  Drink it alone, with cured meats, hearty pasta dishes, grilled and roasted meats and vegetables, and much more.  We dare you not to love it.

Robert Parker, Jr's Wine Advocate:  "The 2016 Narassa, a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, carries five grams per liter of residual sugar, right at the threshold of normal detectability. As a result, some tasters may find this sweet, while others may see it as a dry wine. I'd opt for pairing it with cheeses at the end of a meal, where its decadently ripe flavors of cherries and chocolate will shine, accented by hints of violets and dried spices."  Apr 2018

Winery:  "La Narassa is sourced from the famed black schist soils of the Agly valley in the northern Roussillon near the village of Maury. It is made in a semi-ripasso by harvesting the Grenache in successive passes picking only the ripest clusters. Once at the cellars the fruit is destemmed and only the best berries are chosen for fermentation after a short pre-fermentation maceration."
